Newmedia

I'm drawn to mixing traditional and new media to make new art forms. In these videos, I've re-purposed my artwork to create short digital stories.

2015 A FAREWELL PARTY

Pays homage to the dinosaurs. On their last night. the Pterodactyls throw a party. Everyone on the planet is invited! That night no one chased or ate eachother like they usually did...

2015 CELEBRATING YIN

In the Chinese astrological Year of the Goat, I celebrate Yin moon and earth, and the Yin Wood Goat--by all accounts a fiesty, independent animal, ever curious, sturdy and ready to endure steep climbs to reach daring new heights.

2015 THE WONDERBOX: OF IMAGINARY BEINGS

A bit of a Pandora's box of imagined beings and never-before-seen beasts, culled from myth, fable and the back woods of my mind.

2015 PAINTING CORDELIA

Once upon a summer I was painting a watercolor portrait of Cordelia, a beautiful spunky ten-year old, on a huge 40 x 60 inch piece of hot-press 300-lb. watercolor paper. I suffered great pains to find this rare paper, finally locating it in New York City, where the art store shipped it to me in California. Another rare occurrance is my thought to take numerous in-progress photos of Cordelia as I painted her. Ones that traced Cordelia from a blank sheet of watercolor paper to her finished portrait. This video shows you how I made Cordelia, her portrait, that is.
